Quick Update!

Hello!
I know it's been a few weeks since my last post but I have been working on building my cartridge collection and Stampin Up! ink pad collection. I have recently gotten the Sweethearts cartridge and I'm waiting for the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge to come in the mail. I have been working on an ABC animal book for my Jenna bean. I have about four letters to get done and the book will be complete! I used the ENTIRE Create A Critter cartridge. I almost cut every single image out until I realized the size that I cut the critters out at were too big for my 12 x 12 page. I'm using seven cartridges to complete this book and coming together so cute! I just stuck on the letter Q. I have no idea out of my cartridges starts with a Q. HELP ME! haha.

I made two of the same card because I stamped the wrong stamp on the first one. The two cards are the same except the stamped saying.

Purple layers are 5 in x 3 3/4 in and I embossed these about half way of it.
Paper strip 2 in x 4 in. I used the punch along the top.
I had intended for the first card to have some type of a birthday stamp but I guess I got side tracked and used "cute!" from Friends and Family from the My Pink Stamper stamp line. The second card I use " Sweet Wishes " from the Simply Sweet Occasions also from My Pink Stamper

I stamped " Fabulous!" from the Friends and Family set from the My Pink Stamper stamp line in pink ink.
I did the cheater method with the ribbon. I cut a piece long enough to wrap around the layers and tape the ends to the back of it and then added a bow.

Bug Me Anytime Card

I love the colors of this card!

Blue layer 5 1/4 in x 4 in
Blue patterned layer 5 in x 3 3/4 in

I used " Bug me anytime!" from the My Pink Stamper stamp line from the Buggy Punnies set in black ink. I used the punch along the top.

Happiness is a Butterfly Card

This butterfly is also one of the cut outs I had laying around for a while so I turned it into a card of course!

Recipe
Create A Critter cartridge
purple, teal, green paper and a blueish tealish tye dyed paper
Flower embossing folder
Cuttlebug
ribbon
black ink
My Pink Stamper - Buggy Punnies

The card is 5 in x 4 1/2 in
Purple layer is 4 3/4 in x 4 in.
Tye dye paper 4 1/2 in x 3 3/4 in
Butterfly at 3 in
I used a flower embossing folder that came with my Cuttlebug.
I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper from the Buggy Punnies set. I stamped it on the a piece of scrap paper and added it to a piece of teal scrap paper.
I added ribbon at the bottom of both layers.

Snail Mail Card

When I got my Create A Critter cartridge, I almost literally cut out every animal on it! It's just so cute! So I had this snail cut out for a while and I finally used it!

Recipe
Create A Critter cartridge
purple, teal, and green paper with coordinating patterned paper
Juli's Garden embossing folder
Cuttlebug
My Pink Stamper stamps - More Punny-licious
threading waters border punch by Fiskars
black ink

Cut snail at 3 in
dark purple layer at 5 1/4 in x 4 in
teal layer at 5 in x 3 3/4 in and embossed it in the Juli's Garden folder. For this embossing folder, for best results, use thick paper. Not thin paper because it will rip when you go to add adhesive.
The paper strip I think I cut it at 2 in by 5 in and punched the top and bottom of it.
Stamped it saying "Snail Mail" by My Pink Stamper from the More Punny-licious set

Sweet Baby Card

Lots of my friends are having babies lately and I thought I would start making more baby cards just to have them on hand.

Recipe
Baby Steps cartridge
pink and green paper with coordinating patterned paper
Cuttlebug with swiss dots embossing folder
scallops with two dots border punch by Martha Stewart
pop dots
ATG Gun
My Pink Stamper stamps - Everyday Occasions
black ink

Cut the outfit and socks at 3 1/2 in
Leafy layer 5 1/4 in x 4 in. I embossed this layer with the swiss dots folder. This paper is pretty thin and this folder doesn't cause the paper to rip when I got to add adhesive.
Card at 5 1/2 in x 4 1/4 in
Paper strip 1 1/2 in x 5 1/4 in with the punch along the top.
Stamped "sweet baby" from My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions in black ink

Butterfly Card

Ever since I got my Cuttlebug almost a week ago, I have made a total of 16 cards! I'm pretty proud of myself because I wasn't inspired enough to make that many. But after getting new cartridges, more paper, new stamps, and my Cuttlebug, I just can't stop which is great! So I'm gonna post all of the cards that I have made. :)

Recipe
Straight From The Nest cartridge
blue, pink, brown paper with coordinating paper
My Pink Stamper stamps - Buggy Punnies
pop dots
ATG Gun
Zig zag border punch by Martha Stewart
brown ink

Cut butterfly at 3 1/4 in
Card is a light brown at 5 1/2 in x 4 1/4 in.
Yellow layer 5 1/4 in x 4 in
Blue layer 2 in x 5 1/4 in with the punch along the top (with this punch, it also embosses, so when using it make sure you line it up just right so it doesn't like wrinkled.)
I hate how you can see the stamp very well. That was on me. I used brown ink instead of black because I wanted to match but you can't see it. :(
I used My Pink Stamper stamps Buggy Punnies- "Fluttering by to say hi."
I used pop dots to stick the butterfly on and my ATG gun to stick all the layers together.

Bird Card

I got a little inspired by Robyn from My Pink Stamper for this card. :)

Recipe
Straight From The Nest cartridge
Pink and brown paper with coordinating patterned paper
My Pink Stamper stamps - Everyday Occasions
Apron lace border punch by Fiskars
 pop dots
ATG gun
brown ink

Cut the bird at 3 1/4 in.
Card at 5 1/2 in x 4 1/4 in. Cut 8 1/2 in x 11 in  in half.
Yellow layer at 5 1/4 in x 4 in.
Paper strip 1 1/2 in x 5 1/4 in
I added a pop dot for the wing and more pop dots to be added onto the card.

Cricut and Cuttlebug Tips

As I have been doing projects within the past couple of days, I have figured out some helpful tips while using my Cricut and Cuttlebug.

Tip 1: Have you cut out an image with your Cricut and noticed that a smile is a little jacked up or holes aren't big enough to notice? Well, try turning down your pressure. I had mine set to max and was always getting the  smile look terrible! I now have my pressure set to high or medium depending on the paper and it makes a world of a difference!

Tip 2: I just bought my Cuttlebug yesterday and I love it! It's amazing. But I noticed that while embossing thin  patterned paper, it would rip it. As I was trying to add tape to an embossed paper, it ripped more! So I recommend that you either solid color cardstock for embossing or thick patterned paper.

I hope that helps someone as much as it's helping me. Since getting a Cuttlebug yesterday, I have made EIGHT new cards! That usually takes me a week or longer to make that many! Michael's is having a great sale this week on punches and paper. I got five packs of 8 1/2 in by 11 in paper for $10 and two fiskars borders for $7.99 each because they were half off. I also got two Martha Stewart border punches for $7.99 as well because they were on clearance. Joann's is having a sale on cartridges. I bought Once Upon a Princess for $29.99 from $39.99 and other cartridges that are regularly $49.99 are $32.99 this week. I hope this helps!
